Therapist Spotlight: Megan Pike, LPC-Associate

Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here. In this blog, I’m excited to introduce you to Megan Pike, one of the incredible therapists on our team at OATH Therapy. You’ll get a glimpse into who she is, what led her to this work, and what it’s like to sit across from her in session.

Let’s dive in.

Hi! I’m Megan Pike - LPC-Associate at OATH Therapy. I’m currently under the supervision of Saharah Shrout, MA, LPC-S, while I work toward full licensure as a professional counselor.

I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and parents of children experiencing OCD symptoms. My clinical focus includes Anxiety, OCD, and Trauma, and I’m passionate about helping people feel a little more human and a lot less alone.

Q: Why did you became a therapist?

Like many of my clients, my journey into therapy started with my own. I have experienced anxiety, trauma and loss, maybe just like you. When I was a teen, my father and I were in a car accident, and he didn’t make it. That experience shaped me in ways I’m still discovering. Therapy was a life changing decision for me after that event and I experienced truly how (modalities aside) a free space to talk and unconditional positive regard can bring relief. My therapist helped me navigate one of the hardest seasons of my life, and she inspired me to do the same for others.

Q: What is it like to work with you?

The energy I bring in the therapy room is emulating the friend we all need. I will joke with you, I will comfort you and I will challenge you. I am your biggest encourager to try hard things and your biggest cheerleader when you accomplish it. I believe that the best therapeutic relationships are centered on feeling safe and supported.

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), especially effective tools for OCD and anxiety. These are gold-standard, research-based approaches that help you face what’s scary, reduce avoidance, and take your life back.

Q: What is the #1 myth you clients unlearn?

You are NOT alone. Intrusive thoughts? Everyone has them. Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck? Welcome to being human. And no, you don’t need to be “broken” to go to therapy. Life transitions, stress, relationships (romantic, family, or friend-style), or goals you’re trying to meet, those are all more than enough reason to sit down with someone. Therapy is for anyone who wants more peace and more clarity. I want you to know that you ARE stronger than you think! Whether you are directly suffering from anxiety or not, you have made it through 100% of your hardest days, and that’s great evidence!

Q: What are a few fun things about you?

  • I have four goats who think they’re dogs. They’re wild for snacks and affection.
  • I’m a foodie and proud of it, sushi is a forever favorite.
  • Obsessed with DIY projects, home reno shows, and hosting a themed party. (In my next life, I’d like to be Martha Stewart, but with less insider trading.)
  • Pilates is my self-care jam, I notice a big difference in myself when I move my body.
  • I go to therapy myself, because yep, therapists need therapists too.
  • My dog is my emotional support animal, she is the cutest

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just know it’s time for change, I’d love to walk with you through it. In our first session, we’ll get to know each other, review your history, and set clear goals together.
